Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN)
A Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) is different from a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) because it's issued for more serious offenses, often related to traffic violations, parking offences and minor criminal offenses. We are covering FPNs issued for parking offences. Here's everything you need to know about what happens before and after paying an FPN.
What is a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN)?
A Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) can be issued for a variety of reasons, in this section, we will only be covering FPN’s in relation to parking. FPNs are issued by the police, local councils, or other enforcement officers. Unlike Parking Charge Notices, some FPNs can carry penalty points on your driving license. For more information on FPNs, the different types and see guidance from Citizens Advice.
